For cheap. Somebody snatch this or I will, and I don’t need two cars.

That’s too close to me for comfort...

That’s a cool car

That’s a pretty clean car for the money. How are they for long-term durability though? If it only has 20k miles left
in it, no thanks. If it has 120k miles in it, nice price. (My wife’s ‘01 Echo recently turned over 330k miles, so I’m biased.)

Five minutes from my work. It’s tempting...

At $1800, I don’t think it really matters. It’s as reliable as any other dirt cheap import of the era, I expect. Parts availability won’t be as good as others, though.

If you do check it out, please report back. This would save me needing to get snow tires for the Abarth....
OR selling the Abarth and buying a Jeep....

I wish I could have found a deal like this instead of my car I bought last year.

They’re supposed to be pretty reliable from what I’ve heard. In uni, a friend of mine’s dad was an auto journo - she got to drive cars he brought home on occa
sion and had an SX4 EXACTLY like that one with an auto for awhile....I quite liked it!

I probably won’t check this out, but if I do, I’ll report back.
I don’t think you would enjoy getting out of an Abarth and into a decade old economy car, though.

I would enjoy parking the Abarth and driving something I don’t like so much in the snow, though....

Looked through your posts, having a Cabrio, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Have you driven it in the winter? I can’t imagine it being very pleasant.

That’s crazy cheap. Is the ad for real???

Temperature wise, it’s really just fine. It does not like the slippery stuff so m uch, though.

Not surprising.
Some googling suggests that this year of SX4 experiences driveshaft failure and catalytic converters rattling apart. Not sure I’d go for this as a winter car.

Scams get taken down in my area in minutes. Seems legit to me. It’s actually double posted, one ad from 22 days ago, the other from 3. There might be something sketchy going on for it to be up that long.

I keep telling my brother to look at these; he has a 2005 VW Golf that is not living it’s best life. He wants an Impreza hatch but he is kind of cheap. This is particularly low priced but way too far away.

I didn’t even know they offered it in manual AWD in the US. Dang.

Hey that’s my local craigslist.
Don’t tempt me.

Something is fucky for sure. Or broken.

So as an update the seller has bumped this ad
back up every 48 hours or so, but doesn’t answer the phone or reply to texts. I may keep trying this week.

That’s annoying. I don’t understand when people do that. I was trying to buy a Bentley manual from someone on CL and I called and left a message, but got no response. I don’t think they sold it either, because they reposted the ad.

My only guess (outside of incredible ineptitude, which is possible) is they managed to mess up their phone number in the ad

Hm, maybe. It doesn’t look like they have email attached
either.
